Yarns of Yore is a grassroots social enterprise initiative that empowers women in remote Uttarakhand villages by reviving traditional weaving and spinning. We are aligned with the Prime Minister's Vibrant Villages Programme and supported by the Indian Army. We work with 25 women artisans in Malla and Niti Valley, fostering economic independence while preserving the rich cultural heritage of Garhwal and Kumaon.

Where is Yarns of Yore located?

Yarns of Yore is based at the Knitting & Weaving Centre in Ghingrina Village, Chamoli District, Uttarakhand, India. We work primarily in the remote Himalayan regions of Malla Valley and Niti Valley.
